Northwest Dance Project
Northwest Dance Project was created in 2005 by Leigh Hilary-Lee to allow dancers to be part of a youth performing arts company where they could learn to develop passion, integrity, confidence and strength. The company allows dancers from all over the lower mainland to train with highly skilled professionals from across North America.
Since NWDP began Leigh has traveled with the Company to New York, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Seattle. These trips have been educational, inspiring, and ultimately, have allowed the dancers to perform for international audiences!
The dancers of NWDP are well rounded in dance and study between 9-20 hours/week. They have received countless awards from festivals and competitions throughout BC. Alumni of the Company can be found dancing on cruise ships for Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, and Holland America, as well as on movies, videos, and commercials, and various stage productions such as Grease, 42nd Street, and Oliver. NWDP also had a former dancer open with the new show Revolutions on Broadway in summer 2007!
Leigh continues to develop Northwest Dance Project and seeks to travel even further than North American borders. It is her mission to give back to the community and continue educating her dancers on the reward that dance can give them.
