Lyrical - Dance in Motion

Lyrical jazz is an offshoot of jazz dance and has become very popular in the past couple of decades. Lyrical dancing shows the expression of the dancer through movement in collaboration with the lyrics or mood of the music. It is technical and beautiful to watch. Students do not begin lyrical jazz until they are at an intermediate level of their dance training and it is mandatory to take ballet. Lyrical jazz is taught in the competitive jazz performance classes only.
